FAQ about AIA Chapter Sectionhood
AIA Central Pennsylvania is looking for your feedback on a restructuring opportunity! AIA Central PA wants to hear from you. Take a moment to review our FAQ document on component restructuring. The purpose of this document is to inform our members of the national member-driven effort to reposition-realign-restructure AIA from the national, state and local level – focused on bringing value to the members and furthering the profession of architecture. The current leadership is currently in an exploratory phase with the idea of this opportunity and is seeking to gather information and solicit member input on this topic.
The Yeoman Architect on Passing the Test
By James Mehaffey, AIA
“Surprisingly, many of the lessons I’ve learned over the years have little to nothing to do with designing buildings. That doesn’t mean they weren’t worth learning.”
I completed my hours for the Intern Development Program (now called AXP) in the minimum amount of time possible and registered to take my first division of the test. I resolved to take one division per month until I passed all of them. There were nine divisions then. I took the first exam in October 1999 and finished the last in June of 2000. Read on to learn about how I passed the test.
