Made in PA Series – Volume 3 | High Steel

AIA Central PA is proud to bring you volume three of the MADE IN PA SERIES. MADE IN PA is a series of tours through Central PA facilities that produce building products that we in the construction industry specify daily-giving you a behind the scenes look at the manufacturing process. AboutÂ
The event will include a presentation and a tour at High Steel in Lancaster. The presentation will describe:
- Who High Steel and the High Companies are, with a brief history
- High Steel’s manufacturing process of steel structural elements, particularly bridges, with emphasis on fabrication technologies and constraints associated with achieving project schedules
- Following the presentation, there will be a tour of High Steel’s manufacturing facilities. Attendees will observe the processes of receipt and preparation of material; cutting, welding, assembly, drilling and painting of structural members; and fit verification. The tour will also visit High Steel’s education facility, where participants will weld.
Dress Code Safety Requirements
Closed toed shoes and long pants – no shorts or skirts.
