DESCRIPTION:CPC CSI  Meeting\nTuesday\, January 16\, 2024\n5:00 – 6:00 pm Board Meeting\n6:00 – 6:30 pm Social Networking\n6:30 – 7:00 pm Buffet Dinner\n7:00 – 8:30 pm Program\nNicks 114 Cafe\, New Cumberland\nWhy Do We Need a Waterproofing Consultant?\nPresenter: Nelson Palmer\, Project Consultant with Moisture Intrusion Solutions\, Inc.\nat Nicks114Cafe\, 114 Bridge Street\, New Cumberland\, PA \nAccording to one source\, the “Building Envelope represents 10% of building cost and 70% of construction litigation.” Our presenter will examine design problems\, building issues\, and accountability\, while exploring the question\, what are the “cancers in a structure”? This course will help participants understand when a building envelope consultant needs to be involved and how they can assist the project delivery team throughout the life of a project with architectural plan review\, preconstruction services\, on-site observations\, testing\, and\, when necessary\, forensic analysis. This presentation will highlight suggested steps to achieve long-term deterrence and management of moisture intrusion\, a more durable enclosure\, and better outcomes for a building’s internal environment and occupants. \nThis program\, designed for architects\, specifiers\, facility managers\, building owners\, contractors\, and installers\, is an educational session registered with AIA CES for 1 LU/HSW and IIBEC for 1 CEH. Continuing education certificates will be available upon request. \nDinner reservations at $30 per person are required for all attending.
